About the Fest
Unplugged Fest is a FREE festival where families can unplug from their electronic devices and connect with each other through fun activities in our Lake Zurich Area community!
Local families in our community can ditch their devices, try new activities and learn about the local organizations!
Local organizations within the Lake Zurich area are participating in Unplugged Fest. Each organization is hosting an activity for our community members to demonstrate what their organization is all about.
Each organization will have a "station" around Paulus Park.
Scheduled vendor demonstrations will take place throughout the event to showcase their business!

The drive to have the time of your life
The excitement to come find out what you have been missing
The expectation that community has so much to do
Chairs or a blanket to sit on to watch the demos

Why was Unplugged Fest created?
About Alexis
With Covid-19 many people turned to their devices for connection and entertainment. Peop;e today spend between 4-7 hours a day or up to 50 hours not related to school/work on a device. This has increased since Covid-19. During the pandemic many small businesses and organizations lost business and participants. Because of this, I decided to host Unplugged Fest.
My name is Alexis, I am 15 years old and I am the current Teen Miss Ela Township, former Junior Miss Lake Zurich Area 2019 and 2020, Junior Miss Illinois Earth 2021 and Junior Miss Shining Star 2021-2022. My passion is to fight device dependency and help people to unplug from technology and connect with each other through activities in my community. I want to help my community get unplugged from their devices, get reconnected with one another, and help local businesses increase their customers and participants. In addition I would like to empower kids like to me do big things even though they are young. They can do it!
In 2020 the Village of Lake Zurich Board of Trustees approved my idea and gave me to go ahead for Unplugged Fest 2021 and approved it again for 2022, 2023 and 2024. In 2022 rain caused us to move Unplugged Fest indoors to our generous sponsor the Foglia YMCA.
